The Vincent F. Picard Post 234 is making an appeal for donations to help refurbish our kitchen.
Approximately a year ago our kitchen was shut down due to aging equipment not being able to adequately vent carbon monoxide, causing a dangerous condition. This has severely impacted our hall rentals and community outreach. To reopen the kitchen extensive work is needed to bring everything up to modern building code standards.
It's said that the kitchen is the heart of the home, and that is certainly true at the Post. The kitchen at the American Legion has been the hub for various community events, used not only by direct volunteers of the Post, but by several community groups around Northborough. Events such as breakfast for our Legionnaires' monthly meeting, Boy Scouts' pancake breakfast, Applefest BBQ, Memorial Day BBQ, 4th of July BBQ, Labor Day BBQ and Charity Golf Tournaments, to name a few. With your help, we aim to enhance its facilities to better serve our veterans and our community.
Events like our monthly coffee hour and hosting community meals are the backbone of our organization and without our kitchen we are unable to provide support for those who need it most.
Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated; no amount is too small. Please also consider sharing with your friends and family.
